Yin Yoga Workshop June
Time & Location
About the Event
Take time out of your busy life for two hours of ultimate self-care, and join Claire for this special Yin Yoga Workshop at 'Yoga and Cycle' Kings Heath.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, accessible yoga style with postures that are held for longer periods of time.
Based on a Chinese philosophy and the concept of the meridian system, yin yoga targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body, with the help of various props and supports.
The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. It also helps us to regulate the body's flow of energy.
As the postures are passive in nature, there is more opportunity to bring your focus and awareness inwards, helping you to meditate through each posture and find inner peace, calm and clarity.
A workshop is longer than a regular class, enabling you to go deeper into relaxation. Expect to float home feeling balanced and mellow.
Do not worry if this is your first experience of Yin yoga. Claire will help you get into each posture, including showing you how to use the props effectively.
She will then help to focus your mind through breathwork, guided meditation, short dharma talks, poetry and information on the amazing benefits of yin yoga.
This workshop will begin promptly at 7pm so please arrive early to sign in and get yourself set up.
Yoga mats and some props will be provided, but please bring the following with you:
☯️ Blanket or large towel
☯️ Atleast one cushion/pillow (the more the merrier)
☯️ Water bottle or sealed drink- preferably caffeine and sugar free to avoid stimulation
